History of the Antique Show and Sale:

The Anna Safley Houston Museum’s Antiques Show and Sale was originally started in 1950 by Anna Safley Houston herself to raise funds for the creation of this museum. But upon her unexpected and sudden death in 1951, volunteers focused on getting the museum up and running, putting a pause to the antique show.

In 1974, volunteers from the museum revived the show as a way to raise money for the museum’s continued growth and operations. Today, our visitors enjoy a weekend of reconnecting with old friends and treasure hunting. In 2026, we will celebrate 52 years of hosting the show in Chattanooga. We invite you to join us for this time-honored tradition that supports the Anna Safley Houston Museum.
